At PVS agency, we always want to keep you well informed, this time Netflix is the protagonist. In order to facilitate the content evaluation process for its users, Netflix now changes the way in which series and movies are rated with a “like” or “I don’t like”. This will also allow the company to identify what type of content to suggest to people and what others not.
The old rating system that defined the preference of users’ content by means of stars from 1 to 5 and that therefore helped to classify which were the favorites, will now change, as it will no longer appear next to the series titles or movies are recommended or not by a number of stars, but it will be a percentage from 1 to 100, which will indicate the probability that the content will be liked or not by its users, taking into account the “likes”.
According to Netflix, the percentages will be personalized for each user, considering the preferences that they manifest during the use of the platform, which indicates that each person will have a different percentage in each content. However, the company makes it clear that the evaluations made in the past under the previous rating system will also be taken into account when suggesting content to subscribers.
